Justice Abroad’s Director Michael Polak is assisting the young lady in the new Ayia Napa rape case following a request from her family.
At a hearing on Monday 16 October 2023, the case was set for trial on 18, 20, and 21 December 2023. The 5 defendants entered not guilty pleas to rape, sexual assault by penetration, sexual intercourse through violence, rape by compelling sexual penetration, indecent assault against a woman, sexual harassment, and abduction
It is likely that the complainant will give evidence at the hearings in December.
At the previous hearings the Court heard a summary of the evidence from the Prosecution which set out a horrifically violent gang rape as well as from several staff members who had witnessed the aftermath of the alleged attack.
Justice Abroad’s Michael Polak stated;
We are pleased that the trial will take place soon where the young lady will give evidence about what took place. She is determined that justice is done in this case.
The family of the woman in this case are raising funds to provide her with support in this case. All donations made at www.crowdjustice.com/case/help-ayia-napa-rape-case are very much appreciated at this difficult time.
