Justice Abroad Instructed to Push for Justice for 2016 Ayia Napa Murder Victim George Low

Justice Abroad has been instructed by the family of George Low to assist in their battle for justice, after no one has faced trial for the 2016 murder of George in the Republic of Cyprus.

Justice Abroad will be working with the family and their Westminster representative Gareth Johnson, MP for Dartford, who has constantly raised George’s case at the highest level over the last 6 years.

George was stabbed to death whilst on holiday in the Republic of Cyprus resort town of Ayia Napa in 2016. The friend who he was with was also stabbed by the perpetrators but survived. The two suspects immediately fled to Northern Cyprus and then Turkey and have evaded any repercussions for their alleged actions because of the lack of political relations in the region.

The coroner, Roger Hatch, who heard the inquest into Mr Low’s death in 2019 which included statements from those who had been with Mr Low when he was stabbed, recorded his death as an unlawful killing.

Michael Polak, director of Justice Abroad stated the following:

‘George’s parents have carried out a long and brave fight for justice for their son. It is a nightmare for parents to have their child go to a place that they thought was safe and then be killed in an act of senseless violence.  Their nightmare has continued because the politics in the region mean that they have been denied justice for their son, whereas the perpetrators have been able to get on with their lives.  We will be doing everything we can to achieve justice for George and his family and to give them the closure that they need.’
